East Baltimore Development, Inc. (EBDI) is transforming East Baltimore into a thriving, inclusive community through strategic investment and redevelopment, with support from key partners like the U.S. Government, the State of Maryland, the City of Baltimore, the Annie E. Casey Foundation, and Johns Hopkins Institutions. Together, we are driving equitable growth, ensuring that longtime residents benefit from the revitalization while fostering new opportunities for all.
To date, EBDI has made significant progress demolishing nearly all aging, dilapidated, and lead-filled homes and buildings in the project area, and is replacing them with high-quality, mixed-income housing and state-of-the-art commercial spaces that meet the needs of today’s families and businesses. The revitalization of greater Middle East Baltimore is well underway, with new institutions, amenities, and green spaces attracting former residents back and welcoming new ones to the area.
Our efforts are focused on ensuring that families directly impacted by the redevelopment are treated with fairness, respect, and the support they deserve—setting a new standard for community transformation.
